About
A neuroscience enthusiast with a background in physics.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (ITU). Currently, I’m pursuing my master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at Bogazici University, specializing in neuroscience research.
Within my bachelor’s, I focused on data science and analysis in physics problems within Optoelectronics Laboratory, and then High Energy and Particle Physics Laboratory. My go-to language is Python, and I also use MATLAB and Julia as my secondary programming languages, on top of some bash scripts. For my thesis, I have worked on quantum deep learning for particle physics problems, particularly on muon classification.
My switch to neuroscience was not a surprise, as I was always curious about human psychology and how the brain functions. I decided to do my master’s in biomedical engineering in order to utilize my technical background within the field of neuroscience. I am studying the brain and its interaction with physiology with a combination of imaging techniques, including fMRI and EEG as well as systemic physiology measures, using PPG and pupillometry. I am also enthusiastic about computational neuroscience topics, and have implemented and studied some psychophysics experiments, as well as neuronal simulations and analysis.
I enjoy reading about philosophy of mind, and I am curiously discovering the neuroscience field.
